Yeast Infection Treatment

For more information, check out Yeast Infection Treatment

Yeast Infections are primarly caused by an overgrowth of candida albicans bacteria. Our systems host a wide variety of bacteria in various locations such as on our skin, in our mouths, in our intestines, and also in the genital area. A finely tuned yeast infection treatment will handle candida bacteria without totally removing it, as they are actually good for us. They keep other bad bacteria in check. In turn, candida bacteria are managed by probiotic bacteria.

Problems result when our internal balance is disrupted. These complications can be caused in a few different ways, but suffice it to say that they do happen and this is perfectly normal. The body can soon get itself into balance again, as long as you have no outside forces working against it. One of the major causes of problems is something we have all taken to eliminate bacteria, and that is antibiotics. Unfortunately, because of its widespread and prolific use, antibiotics can sometimes do more bad than good, killing off good bacteria that could have been helping keep bad bacteria in its place.

Hormonal changes can also cause candida to go out of control. Even changes during your period or a pregnancy can cause this. Diabetes can also create a yeast infection problem, as elevated blood sugar levels are incredibly attractive to yeast. If you have intimate contact with an infected partner, this may also lead to a yeast infection. Even something as simple as stress can cause yeast infections, as it makes blood sugar levels rise. Watch what you eat, as processed sugars are a breeding ground for yeast.

If you are looking for ways to treat yeast infections, there are many available over the counter. Most of them can be effective in treating symptoms but few are able to completely tackle the problem. So, you might get some relief, but the underlying problem might not disappear. Also, if you use these over the counter remedies for long periods of time, it can really throw off your body chemistry.

So, what can you do that might actually make a difference? Believe it or not, raw, plain yogurt that has not been pasteurized or otherwise messed with can help. You don't eat it, though. Instead, you put it on the affected areas and leave it for about an hour. It works because raw, plain yogurt is packed with the nice probiotic bacteria. Also, organic apple cider vinegar is known to work well when applied to the affected area.

The most effective way to treat yeast infections long term is to treat the condition in a holistic manner. You've got to take into consideration your whole body and how the various parts relate to each other. You cannot simply treat one part and expect everything to function, as there is a relationship in place between systems, and if you don't look at the entire picture, you're not going to have a very good treatment plan.
